First Look: 2018 Toyota Camry

While we are just now discovering all the benefits of the 2017 Toyota Camry, the innovators at the automaker are already showcasing what will be coming in 2018 for this popular car. At Serra Toyota of Decatur, we love keeping customers in Athens, AL on the cutting edge of all things Toyota, so we were thrilled to see Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda show off the all-new 2018 Toyota Camry at the recent North American International Auto in Detroit. Let’s take a closer look at what we can expect from the eighth-generation of America’s best-selling nameplate.

Revolution and Redesign

Drivers in the Decatur, AL area have come to expect safety and reliability from the 2017 Toyota Camry. While the 2018 incarnation of this midsize sedan will retain these admirable traits, it will also embrace its sporty and stylish sides as well. According to their press materials, the 2018 Toyota Camry will offer three new powertrains including an all-new 2.5-liter four-cylinder Dynamic Force VVT-iE engine that is paired with a new eight-speed Direct-Shift automatic transmission (8AT) and should bring a world-leading thermal efficiency of 40 percent. There will also be a new 3.5-liter V-6 engine that will feature D-4S Fuel Injection. The wheelbase is being extended by two inches, and the roof and hood height will be lowered to improve both aerodynamics and the overall look and lines of the car.
