Toyota Vehicles at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show

At our dealership in Decatur, AL, we are always on the look out for exciting Toyota vehicles of the future, much as the 2017 Toyota models were last year. Because car shows are as close as you can get to an automotive crystal ball, we try to keep close tabs on the big ones. The 87th Geneva International Motor Show, which ran from March 9-19 in Geneva, Switzerland, allowed Toyota to highlight some interesting new vehicles and technology.

Toyota iTRIL Concept

Most of us go to car shows for the concept cars. This year, Toyota really hit it out of the park at the Geneva Auto Show with the i-TRIL. This futuristic vehicle is what Toyota imagines you will drive in the coming decades. It features an electric motor and autonomous driving and the experts at Toyota are expecting this concept car to get roughly 124 miles between charges. Some other highlights include hand controls for accelerating and braking instead of pedals, front wheels that lean up to 10 degrees, and a heads-up display that replaces all gauges. While we don’t expect the i-TRIL to hit the roads anytime soon (or ever for that matter), it is a great look into the kind of vehicles we will be driving in the next twenty years.

Toyota Yaris Tweaked

While no one is sure if the new Toyota Yaris will make it to the states, the version that was introduced at the Geneva Auto Show was quite interesting. There are over 900 new parts in this small hatchback including new headlights and taillights, a bold front bumper, updated grille, and black detailing. Keep a look out, because a completely updated version is coming to the U.S. in the next two years.
